Der PRE116 ist ein 6-Kanal-Stereo-Vorverstärker mit zahlreichen Anschlussmöglichkeiten für Mikrofone und Audioquellen mit Line-Pegel, der sich für diverse kleine und mittlere Audio-Installationen empfiehlt. Der Vorverstärker verfügt über zwei symmetrische Mono-Eingänge mit Phantomspeisung und 3-Band-Klangregelung, an die sowohl Mikrofone als auch Geräte mit Line-Pegel angeschlossen werden können. Die zuschaltbare Talkover-Funktion unterdrückt Hintergrundmusik, sobald ein Priority-Signal anliegt, so dass sich der Vorverstärker auch für Sprachdurchsagen und Paging (Personenrufdienste) eignet. Von den vier Stereo-Line-Eingängen ist einer als symmetrischer XLR-Anschluss ausgeführt, die anderen drei als unsymmetrische Cinch-Anschlüsse. Auf diese Weise können zahlreiche Zuspielgeräte mit Line-Pegel eingebunden werden. Darüber hinaus verfügt der PRE116 über einen integrierten Bluetooth-Empfänger (auf Kanal 3 zugemischt) und eine frontseitige 3,5-mm-Klinkenbuchse (auf Kanal 4 zugemischt) und stellt damit komfortable Anschlussmöglichkeiten für Mobilgeräte wie Laptops, Smartphones und Tablets bereit - drahtlos oder per Kabel. Zusätzlich bietet ein Priority-Mute-Kontakt die Option, alle Zuspielquellen ohne Priorität stummzuschalten, sobald der Kontakt geschlossen wird, was auch die Einbindung autonomer Alarmsysteme erlaubt. Die Eingangslautstärke wird über Drehregler auf der Vorderseite eingestellt; ausgangsseitig steht ein Master-Volume-Regler (Lautstärkeregler) mit LED-Aussteuerungsanzeige (6 Segmente) sowie 2-Band-Klangregelung bereit. Anschlüsse und Konfiguration der Ein- und Ausgänge wie Gain-Anpassung und Mono/Stereo-Umschaltung können auf der Rückseite des PRE126 vorgenommen werden.
