Sie passen auf die Federbeine der Hinter- und Vorderachse. Im Luftfederungssystem sind die Luftfederdämpfer mit Restdruckhalteventilen ausgestattet. Diese ermöglichen es, einen Restdruck im Federbein zu halten. Diese Funktion wird z. B. beim Ausbau eines Federbeins benötigt oder aber bei einer beschädigten Druckluftzuleitung. Ebenfalls ist diese Funktion wichtig, wenn das Fahrzeug einmal längere Zeit abgestellt werden soll. Leider funktionieren die Restdruckhalteventile bei den originalen Federbeinen im Laufe der Zeit nicht mehr richtig. Sie öffnen und schließen somit nicht mehr richtig und lassen das Fahrzeug auch nicht mehr auf- oder abwärts steuern. Eine Fehlermeldung kann sich ergeben, wenn Sie Ihr Fahrzeug einmal auf eine niedrigere Stufe stellen wollen. Hier kann es nach einiger Zeit durch eine Fehlfunktion passieren, dass die Restdruckhalteventile klemmen und die Druckluft nicht mehr richtig abgelassen werden kann. Es erscheint dann entweder die Fehlermeldung „Stopp Fahrwerksfehler“ oder „Niveauregelung oberer Grenzwert überschritten“ innerhalb der Multifunktionsanzeige. Eine Seite des Fahrzeugs steht, abhängig davon, welcher der Luftfederdämpfer betroffen ist, entsprechend höher als die andere. Sehen Sie eine dieser Fehlermeldungen, sollten Sie das entsprechende Ventil also überprüfen und gegebenenfalls erneuern. Es empfiehlt sich immer, die Ventile paarweise pro Achse zu erneuern, da sie sich relativ synchron abnutzen. So sparen Sie direkt einen zweiten Werkstattbesuch, was natürlich auch Kosten spart.
