Our 17th century judge knows exactly what you have been up to….and you could be left to languish in the rat infested dungeon for it…or be given a gruesomely fun task to perform… but who knows who the judge will on? The York Dungeon brings York’s horrible history to life with 11 live shows, actors and special effects. Torture Chamber York’s torturer always finds a way to get you talking, whether with the hook, the castrator, the jaw breaker, or the creeping agony of the rack. Maybe he’ll loosen your tongue the hard way, with the tongue-tearer! The Great Plague It’s the 16th century and the terrible plague has struck York again. Thousands are dying, appallingly disfigured and in unspeakable agony. Will you escape the deadly disease or run out screaming? Labyrinth of the Lost Who dares enter the Labyrinth of the Lost? Here lies the ancient Roman fortress of Emperor Constantine, buried beneath York Minster. Every treacherous turn takes you closer to the grim ghosts of a Lost Roman Legion. Judgement of Sinners It is the middle of the 18th Century and England’s justice system is harsh, unpredictable and frequently lethal. Some 220 offences are punishable by death. Pray the judge has pity on your soul. Your sentencing and fate await you! Witches: Burned Alive The witch hunt is on! Hear the screams and feel the heat as the accused are burnt alive before your eyes. Will you escape the persecution or will you meet your end at the stake? But the plot is foiled, and Guy Fawkes is arrested. He has sworn not to give up the names of his co-conspirators, but let’s see if a little brutal torture can loosen his tongue… Ghosts of York A creepy whistle rides on the cold air. A feeling of resentment and anger surrounds you. Your senses tell you that you are not alone. Through the dark silence comes a haunting wail… and then suddenly a pale figure appears before you, a vengeful, ghostly presence that leaves you paralysed by fear! Dick Turpin Travel to the dark depths of York Prison where murderer, thief, and infamous highwayman Dick Turpin awaits his death at the gallows. After years of stealing livestock, robbing stage-coaches and murdering those who came after him, he’s about to meet his well-deserved fate at the end of a rope! But suddenly you enter your worst nightmare: a pitch-dark cell, a waiting hangman and Turpin… who wants his revenge in blood! Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.   York City Cruise Please note: The River Ouse in York can occasionally rise to levels that can have an impact on this cruise's daily operations after periods of heavy rainfall in the catchment area upstream. This summer see more than a dozen species of seahorses, seadragons, and their relatives in the Horses and Dragons exhibits. Pacific seahorses native to our local area are on display in the first floor Southern California/Baja gallery, a trumpetfish is included in the Gulf of California exhibit on the second floor, and various species of seahorses, seadragons, pipefish, razorfish, and other animals from this family are on display in the Tropical Pacific gallery. The longsnout seahorse (also known as the slender seahorse) and dwarf seahorse have never before been exhibited at the Aquarium. Visitors will learn how these animals are bred and cared for at the Aquarium, see babies, and learn about the conservation issues these animals face in the wild, including harmful fishing practices, the traditional medicine and curio trade, and habitat loss. Does not include Behind the Scenes Tour or Turtle Vision 4D movie  Café Scuba, serving a variety of sandwiches, salads, burgers, pizza, and more, provides a relaxed atmosphere overlooking our Seals & Sea Lions exhibit and is the perfect place to grab a meal or a quick snack.  In partnership with the Aquarium of the Pacific, SAVOR... serves environmentally friendly and sustainable seafood at Café Scuba. Additional food can be found at Bamboo Bistro, the Coffee Cart, and the Jamba Juice hut.

Am Ende der Rutschpartie durch ein riesiges Aquarium gleiten - ein must für Adrenalinjunkies. The Lost City Siam Park ist voller Überraschungen für alle Altersstufen und daher haben auch die Kleinsten eine Kinderbereich nur für sich ganz allein. „Die verlorene Stadt“ besteht aus diversen Türmen, Brücken, Netzen, Wasserfällen und insgesamt 15 Rutschbahnen. Baby Zone Der Siam Park hat auch einen ganzen Bereich für die Wassser-Babies. Hier ist alles auf die wirklich jungen Gäste und ihre Eltern abgestimmt.  Der exotisch anmutenden Siam Beach mit traumhaft weißem Sand, Palmen, wunderschönem Blick über den Atlantik ist ein perfekter Ort um die Seele baumeln zu lassen, tiefenentspannt einen erfrischenden Drink zu schlürfen…   Die Seelöweninsel Beim Betreten des Parks werden Sie von unseren sympathischen Seelöwen begrüßt. The Map Room The Map Room came into use on the very first day that the Cabinet War Rooms were ready for occupation and remained the heart of the site throughout the war.  The room was staffed twenty-four hours of every day, from August 1939 to August 1945.   The principal function of the Map Room was to act as a round the clock central point for information about the war. The War Cabinet Room This was the inner sanctum of British Government, the room used for meetings of the Prime Minister, a select few ministers and advisers of his War Cabinet and his Chiefs of Staff.  115 meetings of the War Cabinet took place and momentous decisions were taken in this room.  The scratched arms of the seat in which Churchill sat bear witness to the tensions of those crucial meetings at critical moments of the war. Churchill's Room Although his room in the Cabinet War Rooms boasted comforts of a higher standard than anywhere else in the complex, Winston Churchill preferred not to sleep there. He used his room at the Cabinet War Rooms for visits to the Map Room and for business, when forced to meet underground. He also delivered four of this wartime speeches from here, including his 11 September 1940 speech, warning of Hitler's plans to wage a war of terror against the United Kingdom. The Transatlantic Telephone Room The Transatlantic Telephone Room, to which a huge scrambler 'Sigsaly' was connected, created the original hot-line for allowing Churchill and the American President to conduct their vital strategic discussions in complete security.  Like all the rooms in the complex, this originally had a more humble purpose - it was once a store for brooms and domestic equipment.  It was adapted in mid-1943 to house this particularly secret installation. The Churchill Museum The Churchill Museum is divided into five chapters, spanning all ninety years of Churchill's life. To allow an easy transition from the historical context of the Cabinet War Rooms, the story begins on 10 May 1940 with Churchill's appointment as Prime Minister. The visitor can then explore his later years, his childhood, his early political career and finally the period known most famously as the 'Gathering Storm'. Facilities The Switchroom Café is a great place to relax with a range of hot and cold food freshly prepared on the premises, along with a variety of beverages on offer. Open 7 days a week from 10:00 until 17:00, the café is located halfway through the tour but visits to the café can be taken at any time.  The café also houses interesting photographic artefacts from the Second World War to view. Everyone remembers where they were on September 11, 2001. An event that shook the world, the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center changed the path of recent history in a way we still see every day. Visit Ground Zero to gain a deeper understanding of 9/11, the affect it had on the city (and the world!) and the long struggle undergone in New York City to move forward from that day.  With an expert local guide, you’ll explore not just the 9/11 Memorial & Museum, but the areas and landmarks around the World Trade Center that featured so poignantly in news reports after the attacks. Traveling in small groups, you’ll visit St. Paul’s Chapel, where friends and families gathered to hear news of their loved ones, and where handmade prayers and memorials still lie.  At Brookfield Place (previously known as the World Financial Center) you’ll learn about the economic effects of the attack and the struggle to rebuild afterwards. You’ll visit the Eleven Tears Memorial, a touching and personal memorial, which commemorates the 11 American Express employees that died in 9/11. The Winter Garden is another must-see on Vesey Street. You may have missed it on your own, but with a local guide leading the way, you won’t miss a beat.  After that we’ll head for Ground Zero, to see the stunning 9/11 Memorial Pools, each one built in the footprint of one of the twin towers, and inscribed with the names of all those who perished in the attack. Your guide will take this time to give you a more personal account of the tragedy that unfolded here, taking you to the Fireman’s Memorial and the Survivor Tree to tell you the incredible stories of courage and loss that unfolded right where you stand.  The last stop on our tour is one we’ll let you manage on your own. The 9/11 Museum is a very well curated space, with artifacts salvaged from the event on display, alongside countless personal stories. It’s a very moving visit, best taken in at your own pace in silence. We still have one last perk though – we’ve pre-reserved your museum tickets, so you’ll skip long lines to gain immediate access.
